Rustic, black, dusty fruit palate; nose of smoke. + I love the name (equals “sadness/anguish repeller” in french)!

Crianza, or better: Reserva (12 months maturing in oak barrels), 100% Tempranillo Deep cherry-red colour. Plum, tobacco, coffee and mineral flavors with berry and vanilla notes. |
Marques de Velilla

100% Tempranillo. Dark reddish-purple. Nose of ripe berry fruit and toasted vanilla oak. Palate of ripened fruit and wood; pleasant. |
Tempranillo. Cheap good wine.
Rich and smooth.

Yes! It is possible (and quite frequent in fact): good Swiss (Geneva) red wine!
Cuvée Cologny Gamaret + Cabernet-Sauvignon.
ou (mieux):
Reserve de la commune de Cologny
Elevé en fûts de chêne. Intense!

“Armoiries” of Geneva
Cuvée Cologny, vintage 2001: nice; 2002: less nice.

Cru bourgeois.
Merlot 82%, Cabernet Sauvignon 13%, Cabernet Franc 4%, Pressac (Malbec) 1%.
Discovered in a degustation after a “scientific oenology” talk by Denis Dubourdieu (now Oenologie faculty, “laboratoire d’oenologie générale” and “Institut des sciences de la vigne et du vin” head, Bordeaux) at the university of Geneva (one of the most “popular” talk I’ve ever seen! as the degustation was part of the talk…): strong smoky nose, chocolaty, fruity palate!...

Crus bourgeois.
Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet-Franc, Merlot, Petit-Verdot.
My first ‘enjoyed’ glass of wine: a revelation, realizing that wine can be good! (I was young!). Don’t know if I still like it!?

100% Merlot. Cheap pleasant wine!
Strong (artificial?) palate of vanilla!

No precise recollection! = Maybe I didn’t like them that much!? (or when you expect too much, you are often ~disappointed). “To do” : re-taste them!
château Canon (Saint Emilion, Bordeaux):
1er grand cru classé B.
Merlot 80%!, Cabernet-franc 20%.
château Margaux (Margaux, Bordeaux):
1er grand cru classé.
Cabernet-sauvignon 75%, Merlot 20%, Petit verdot 5%.
(1996 is Parker 99/100!, 1990: 100/100 !, 1920 still great!)

This one (year?), I remember that I’ve really enjoyed it.
Dec. 2006: Retasted a 1999 bottle together with molecular food @ Denis Martin : great
Cabernet-sauvignon 65%, Merlot 25%, Cabernet-franc 5%, Petit verdot 5%.
(1996 is Parker 96/100! same for 1961)

Wines I’m longing to taste:
Vega Sicilia (Ribera del Duero, Spain):
“Legendary” Ribera del Duero wine (tempranillo)!
http://www.vega-sicilia.com
Vinedo Chadwick (2000) and Sena (2001) (Chile):
Cabernet Sauvignon blends, won first places in the Berlin Wine Tasting of 2004, beating France’s prestigious Château Lafite-Rothschild and Château Margaux!

Whilst Chile’s stereotype is fruity, simple good value and cheap, more and more very high quality wines at super-Premium level are being made.

Note: I’ve finally tasted Sena 2001; amazing, I ‘ll buy more bottles of it…
Gantenbein Pinot Noir (2004) (Swiss):
Considered to be the best Swiss red wine and one of the best Pinot Noir…
