Where?

In the Douar of Laabadna, Ouad Zem Cercle, (3 hours south from Casablanca).

Objectives

  • Ensure access to safe drinking water, improve hygiene and health conditions in schools and homes, relieve women from the duty of fetching water on long distances.

How?

  • Through the construction of water and sanitation infrastructures such as pipelines, standpipes, water storage tanks, toilets.
  • Through a holistic and integrated approach which includes a social component: a course of literacy for women,a hygiene promotion module, A course on sensitization to the safe use of water and to sustainable developement.

Jul 07

The construction of the well is now finished (May 2010). It reaches a depth of 70 meters. Pumping tests indicate that the quality of the water is excellent and that there is enough water for the population in the Douar. Next step will be to build the water tower, to install the solar pump and to construct the pipeline that will conduct the water to the school.
