THe Eco-Villages, Water & Sustainable Development association was created in June 2007 in order to support local community-based initiatives around the thematic of Water and Sustainable Development by fostering the participation on women, promoting local ecological development and finding solutions to counteract the effects of climate change.

Priority thematics

• Water, Sanitation and Health.
• Local economic development.
• Education and women’s dignity.
• Sensitization to the Environment and to the local ecological heritage.
• Global warming and sustainable ecologic technology.

Projects are implemented through a holistic approach. They take root in a local context and aim to respect the local ecological cultural, spiritual, culinary, and artistic heritage.

Our Activities

• Facilitating projects for which a local community-based initiative and demand is already manifest.
• Fundraising.
• Organisation of supportive events such as conferences, round table expert meetings, thematic evenings, and artistic expositions.
• Exchange of information with other organisations around the world.
• World-wide networking for the promotion of projects in partnership with individuals, the private sector and the public service sector.

• In Switzerland, Morocco and Mali.

How?

• Through a participatory and community approach at the local level to ensure local ownership.
• Through partnerships with local and international institutions.
• Simple, replicable and sustainable projects.
