Eco-Villages is a Swiss non-profit association which supports local community-based initiatives around the thematic of Water and Sustainable Development. Eco-villages supports concrete actions to support communities around their own projects.

In order to celebrate the year 2010, international year dedicated to biodiversity, we have created a botanical path in St-Cergue. The botanical pathway will be lauched on July 18th 2010 in St-Cergue at 10 o’clock at the beginning of the pathway (chemin du Vieux-Château).

  • Sensitization to the Environment and to the local ecological heritage.

Projects are implemented through a holistic approach, with respect to the
local cultural, ecological, spiritual, culinary and artistic heritage.

Our Activities

  • Facilitating projects for which a local community-based initiative and demand is already manifest.
  • Fundraising
  • Organisation of supportive events such as conferences, round table expert meetings, thematic evenings, and artistic expositions
  • Exchange of information with other organisations around the world.
  • World-wide networking for the promotion of projects in partnership with individuals, the private sector and the public service sector.

Where?

  • In all villages of the world.
  • In Switzerland and in developing countries

How?

  • Through participatory approach at the local level to ensure local ownership
  • Through professional support by teams of national and international experts in hydrology and cooperation projects|
