Swiss citizen born in Africa (where he has lived 35 years), Bernard has been active in a wide spectrum of activities ranging from business management of important development projects, industrial promotion and rehabilitation of water treatment plants. Overseas, he has worked for the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). In Switzerland he managed a limited company involved in sales of hydraulic equipment and taught management at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.

His new area of interest is sustainable development and environmental issues.

De nationalité Suisse, mais né en Afrique (où il a vécu 35 ans), Bernard a effectué des activités diverses: gestion administrative d’importants projets de développement, de promotion industrielle et de réhabilitation de stations de traitement d’eau. A l’étranger, il a travaillé pour la Direction du développement et de la coopération suisse (DDC) et pour le Comité International de la Croix Rouge (CICR). En suisse il a géré une SA active dans la distribution d’équipements hydraulique et a donné des cours de gestion d’entreprise à l’Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. Son centre d’intérêt se porte actuellement sur le développement durable et l’environnement.
